#1 Vet in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
Cambridge Bar Hill VetsforPets is a Vets4Pets-branded practice that the website describes as locally owned, with a modern, well-equipped setup (including an in-house lab, imaging, and separate dog/cat wards). Reviews most often describe thorough consultations and fast admin support (including a “message service” that gets replies quickly), alongside specific hands-on care such as removing a grass seed from a puncture wound and then prescribing anti-inflammatory and antibiotic treatment. Pricing feedback is mixed: one recent reviewer felt the initial consultation was “good” value but cited £300+ for blood tests and £90 for blood pressure checks.
The practice is also listed as a Veterinary Nurse Training facility.

Very welcoming, professional. Vet was very well informed and prepared to see my catafter file transfer from another vet. Consultation went well and thorough information was provided. Consultation price is good but should you need a blood t wt or take blood pressure, they then get up to the roof - over £300 for a blood test regardless or what is tested, £90 for a blood pressure test - so I decided to go back to my previous vet whose fees were half for these.

Always a lovely experience (my cat would argue this), great service, knowledgeable, professional and friendly vets, nurses and receptionists. Since the Bar Hill branch opened I haven't gone anywhere else, would be great if there was a snake expert in house though :)

Staff are always very helpful at Bar Hill, and are happy to assist the rehoming centre in dealing with Amelies behavioural issues.

Subject: Thank You for Yesterday's Visit – Bascus Vaccination and Microchipping Dear Vet4Pets Bar Hill Team, I'm just writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for the care and professionalism you showed during our visit yesterday. It was Bascus’s, my Norwegian Forest Cat, first time being microchipped and vaccinated, and you made the experience smooth and reassuring — both for him and for me! I truly appreciate the way your team handled everything with such kindness and attention to detail. Thanks again for all your help and for the wonderful service you provide. Looking forward to our next visit! Special thanks to Dr Helen McMillan MRCVS ! Kind regards, Alex

Returning from France our cockerpoo had a poorly paw due to a puncture wound in France. It seemed to be getting worse despite some treatment in France. Worried we stopped at Cambridge services and contacted vets for pets bar hill. They made us an immediate appointment. The receptionist rang the vets in France to get details. Our cockerpoo was then seen by Megan the vet who managed with difficulty to extract a grass seed from the wound and then provided anti- inflammatory and antibiotic treatment. The whole experience was excellent. I can wholeheartedly recommend this practice.

I could write a lengthy review, but to keep it brief, our experience was extremely disappointing. It felt as though financial gain was prioritized over proper care. They seemed unsure of how to handle serious cases, and unfortunately, our dog’s condition worsened under their care. After three days without a clear diagnosis, we sought a second opinion, and another veterinarian identified the issue within minutes. Had we continued relying on this clinic, our dog might not have made it. What’s even more concerning is that they refuse to acknowledge their poor practice and remain unapologetic. Due to the severity of the situation, we are currently seeking legal advice. Based on this experience, we will never return and strongly advise others to avoid this clinic.

We transferred both of our dogs to Bar Hill Pets4Vets last year after a bad experience with another local vet, and it was the best decision we could have made! One of our dogs is extremely anxious about vet visits, and recently, after she had an accident, we had to bring her in. Megan and the team were incredibly patient, helping her feel at ease and keeping her calm throughout the visit. The experience was so much better than what we’ve encountered before, and we’re truly grateful for the care and support we received from everyone involved. Huge thank you to Megan and the team for looking after our dogs as if they were their own every time we visit, couldn’t recommend them enough!!
